Ruijgh career hasn't gone as he planned. The rider from Limburg had a strong start with the under 23's after a promising time with the juniors. He then decided to join the PPL Belisol team last year at club level. Thanks to several remarkable victories the climber began to shine again and Vacansoleil offered him a contract as a trainee in the autumn. Ruijgh siezed this opportunity with both hands, coming fifth in the Druienkoers Overijse in 2009 11th in the ranking of the Tour of Britain. Now Ruijgh is eager to make his professional debut in 2010.
