Leukemans made a massive impact on Vacansoleil with an immediate stage win in the Star of Bèssèges. He maintained his fitness levels up until the spring classics, living up to the faith Vacansoleil had put in him. He came fifth in the Queen’s ride of the Star Elektrotour and the Belgian championship in Aywaille later into the season. However, he was forced to give up in the Vuela. Leukemans is once again one of the main riders in the spring classics.
