Italian rider Ongarato is new to the Vacansoleil team. He was born on the 24th July 1975 and is an extremely fast rider. For years he was one of the most important helpers for fellow rider Petacchi, aiding him in windy races, and is now hoping to help Bozic and Romain Feillu to victory in 2010. Although Ongarato is 34 years old he is as enthusiastic as ever and certainly does not lack ambition. He is experienced in some of the most established events like the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France. Ongarato, who became a professional at Ballan in 1998, has signed a two year contract.
